I am keen to know where the fuelfilter is located on my D4 3ltr SDV6 and the tips/tricks for replacing it when I am not in a position to find a reputable service shop. It is located above the crossmember in front of the fuel tank drivers side. Not real easy to get to & heat shields can be a pain also as they need to be removed to access clearly. The Captiva DPF failed after having done about 5,000 km and it was off the road for 10 days waiting on a replacement. Then at about 150,000 Km the seal on the turbo leaked oil into the exhaust and killed the DPF. Replacement cost was again quoted at approx. $6,000.
